Closing Celebration:
Sunday, Feb 15, 3-5pm
by Desi Dongo
Now On View: RECONNECT
Desi Dongo is a silkscreen and textile artist from New Mexico.
Her work is deeply tied to her own experiences with nature and her family’s history living in the high desert forests of the Sanger de Cristo mountains.
By utilizing a variety of photographic processes, she is able to capture the intricacies of the flora and rethink their ethereal presence.
In today’s society, humans have become removed from the natural world. These pieces create an opportunity to rethink that relationship, to seek connection with nature, to find our roots, and to remember that the earth is our home and we are as delicate and complicated as the grass beneath our feet.
